Boeing Charleston Factory

South Carolina is home to Boeing’s newest commercial jet final assembly and delivery facility. The 787 Dreamliner – acknowledged by the industry as the finest, most-technologically advanced wide-body airplane not only in the Boeing fleet, but in history. JENSEN HUGHES performed code consulting, life safety drawings, fire sprinkler and fire pump design for the newly constructed 1.2 million-sf assembly and utility buildings at the Boeing Charleston Factory. Code review services were performed during the design phase and life safety plans were developed and submitted as part of the building construction documentation. During project construction, JENSEN HUGHES reviewed the fire protection shop drawings and later provided field observation reports of the fire protection installation. Completed in 2011, the 240-acre complex is noted as the largest single capital investment in South Carolina’s history.
