Customized analysis tools for special applications

Even with the advent of powerful, commercial, multi-physics software, there are still applications where existing software does not adequately address the needs of our clients. JENSEN HUGHES stands ready to develop special purpose analysis tools to support the unique needs of our clients. We have a long history of successful development of specialized modeling tools. By combining our engineering knowledge with our fire testing and fire research experience, JENSEN HUGHES/ model development services provide  our clients with the customized tools required for specialized engineering analysis.

Leveraging our extensive experience in testing halon alternatives and in designing clean agent systems, JENSEN HUGHES has developed a suite of tools for designing code complaint systems. This successful software development effort is now used worldwide by system manufacturers.

Composite Material Flame Spread

Picture_Section 3 - Services_Risk and Hazards Analysis_Modeling_Model DevelopmentConstruction of ships, planes, and other vehicles is seeing an increased use of fiber-resin composite materials. JENSEN HUGHES has successfully developed software to translate bench scale testing of material flammability into real world performance. This model has successfully been used to assess hazards of new construction materials for mass transit systems.

Shipboard Fire and Smoke Spread

Picture_Section 4 (NEW) - Services_Risk and Hazards Analysis_Modeling_Model DevelopmentNaval vessels pose unique fire protection challenges. Steel and aluminum construction provide opportunities for rapid heat transfer and fire spread. Combine this with the consequences of combat and severe fire conditions can rapidly be realized. JENSEN HUGHES has developed the FSSIM fire model, accredited under DoD 5000.61, specifically to address the Navy’s needs for fire and smoke spread prediction that can be integrated into larger simulation suites to provide a total ship simulation including crew and system behaviors in response to the spread of fire and smoke. FSSIM has supported LFT&E and survivability analyses throughout the modern Navy.
