Jacqueline Kowalik is a petrographer with over 7 years of experience in investigating and evaluating causes of distress and failure in building materials from new and existing structures. Her experience and expertise in microscopy, laboratory testing, and field investigation delivers a comprehensive approach to assessing materials-based performance issues.

Ms. Kowalik conducts evaluations of cementitious materials, aggregates, and other building materials using x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM/EDS) techniques. She also utilizes chemical and physical testing to augment petrographic studies and establish deterioration and failure mechanisms in concrete structures. Ms. Kowalik’s clients have included contractors, engineers, consultants, real state owners, and attorneys.
