Senior Director

Nathan Hunt is a senior threat and violence risk management and law enforcement expert with more than three decades of experience in program management, project development, training design, risk management and incident command and control. As a critical member of Jensen Hughes' Threat + Violence Risk Management practice, he helps clients across industries and sectors understand the security-related risks, threats and vulnerabilities they confront and develop integrated, prevention-oriented programs, strategies and countermeasures to address them.

Before joining the Jensen Hughes team, Nathan worked for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a supervisory federal law enforcement officer. He was instrumental in providing intelligence-driven, risk-based security solutions for critical transportation infrastructure throughout the region. This included planning, directing and leading DHS personnel in a security task force comprised of federal, state and local assets and resources to safeguard transportation infrastructure, protect the traveling public and promote confidence in the nation’s transportation sector.

As a DHS supervisor, he also served as a primary planner and operational team leader for several National Security Significant Events (NSSE) in the Chicago area. In this capacity, he was responsible for scheduling, planning, supporting and supervising agents deployed around the world on intelligence-driven operations.

Earlier in his career, Nathan was a U.S. Army Special Forces officer and Detachment Commander. As an expert in operational and logistical planning in support of special operations contingency and training missions throughout the world, he led integrated multi-service teams involved in security operations and planning and worked extensively with host-nation forces to plan and execute highly sensitive, high-risk missions and initiatives across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. As a Director of Special Forces Multi-Media Training Analysis and Feedback, he led a multi-disciplined team of software engineers, data analysts, and training specialists in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. At the beginning of his career, Nathan was a Team Leader, Special Forces A-Team and an Infantry Officer, U.S. Army Europe.

Nathan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Tampa, and his Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College. He is a member of ASIS International and is currently working toward his Certified Protection Professional credential.
