Alan Topinka, Vice President, Forensics Technical Services, is a Mechanical Engineer who specializes in product failure analysis, accident investigations, load and stress testing, construction defect and engineering design analysis. He provides product liability and personal injury litigation support and expert testimony to law firms, insurance companies and industry. He has performed, supervised and reviewed hundreds of engineering and failure analysis investigations, including evaluating and determining the adequacy of work performed by others. Mr. Topinka's background includes substantial failure analysis work involving a variety of mechanical and structural systems, and components from various industries including manufacturing, marine, aerospace and construction. He is experienced with load and stress failures on structures from stadium bleachers to residential furniture as well as vehicle accident reconstruction, vehicle fires and vehicle component failures. He investigates failures due to overloading, material failure and environmental causes. In addition, he evaluates accidents involving slip, trip and fall, human factors, building code and equipment safety.
