Carolina Vinado is a Materials Engineer who specializes in Li-ion battery assembly, testing, failure mode analysis, and material characterization. She holds a PhD in Material Science and Engineering from the University of Washington. Carolina works closely with other engineering professionals, providing a multi-disciplinary approach and combining expertise on particular projects to determine root cause, failure modes, and material degradation, and product life expectancy. She is skilled with material characterization instrumentation including: battery cycling, cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS), x-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Thermogravimetry Analysis (TGA) and optical microscopy.
