Edward J. Poon, PEng, is the Director, Canadian Forensics Operations + Principal Forensic Engineer. Mr. Poon's work focuses on the analysis and investigation of damages pertaining to fires, explosions, vibration, ground movement, wind/snow/hail/rain loads, vehicle impacts, and water infiltration. He conducts cause analysis and investigations on design/construction deficiencies and building envelope, and building science deficiencies and failures. Before joining Jensen Hughes, Mr. Poon worked as a Catastrophe Response Team Lead on the behalf of insurance industry clients at incidents such as the tornadoes in Vaughan, Leamington and Goderich, and the Fort McMurray wildfires. Mr. Poon's background includes construction management specific to heavy civil construction. He is familiar with municipal and MTO work. Past responsibilities have included Construction Management Project Coordination, Quality Management, Contract Administration, Health and Safety, and Quality Verification Engineering. Mr. Poon is qualified as an Expert Witness in the Province of Ontario Courts and Alternate Dispute Resolutions and does Ontario Building Code consulting for small buildings.
