John Rickauer, PE is a Senior Civil Engineer and the Operations Manager of the Denver Forensic division. He provides engineering analysis to determine the cause and origin of structural, geotechnical and building materials failures. He assesses damage in residential and commercial foundations and superstructures resulting from soil movement, snow load, water intrusion, inadequate design, wind and other causes. He also prepares documentation with repair recommendations and design drawings including the modification of surface and subsurface drainage. Mr. Rickauer has been involved with various projects including construction defect litigation with extensive knowledge and experience in projects involving lateral and vertical movement of structures that may be exposed to unstable or expansive soils. He has extensive experience with timber, steel and concrete systems for residential and light commercial buildings. He has been involved with analyzing truss and roof system failures and providing design solutions. He also applies his knowledge of codes and standards to analyze premise liability and personal injury cases.
