Moriel has two decades of experience in the fire protection engineering, building code consulting, property risk consulting, and life safety systems design fields. Her specialties include fire protection and life safety consulting for high-rise mixed-use construction, complex retail and warehousing facilities, United States government requirements, and higher education dormitories. She provides multi-discipline plan reviews; preparation of code variances / equivalencies; designs of safety-related systems including sprinkler, fire alarm and egress; and construction period oversight including inspection, commissioning and final acceptance testing.

Outside of the workplace, she serves as Chair of NFPA’s committee on Structures, Construction, and Materials for the Building Construction and Safety Code (NFPA 5000) and as Chair of the NFPA 703, Standard for Fire Retardant-Treated Wood and Fire-Retardant Coatings for Building Materials. She also serves as an Associate Director of the Global Design Alliance, an international network of design, planning and construction firms committed to fostering dynamic growth and change in the AEC industry.
