Paul Amico is a Nuclear Engineer with over forty years of experience in the performance and management of domestic and international programs involving risk and reliability technology and its application to the design and operation of nuclear reactor plants, non-reactor facilities, process plants and other technologies. As a Practice Leader, he is responsible for coordinating activities between the International and Industrial Business Practices to pursue opportunities in Power, Oil & Gas, and Manufacturing in international markets.
In addition to the US, his experience includes Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and United Arab Emirates. He is a leader in the development and adaptation of risk and reliability methods for risk management, risk-informed regulation, risk-based prioritization, development of design and operations strategies, safety basis development, training, and technology transfer.
Mr. Amico’s risk experience includes over 50 nuclear power plants, and he has participated in over 30 projects related to the development and implementation of risk-informed regulation. He has participated in over 40 activities related to external and internal hazards. He is a recognized subject matter expert in risk assessment, risk management, risk informed engineering, value-impact/decision analysis, hazards assessment, human reliability analysis (HRA), seismic and other external hazards risk and margins studies, fire risk assessment, and is regularly brought in by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to serve as an International Expert for their activities.
