Mairead Barden
Principal Engineer

What is your role at Jensen Hughes?
I'm a principal fire safety engineer in the JGA/Jensen Hughes Dublin office.
Something you didn't know about me
In 2012, during my Structural Engineering undergraduate degree, I completed a work placement module in Doha, Qatar that involved the now the Qatar Petroleum HQ. Working in a different country and culture was a fantastic experience.
What do you love about working at JH/JGA?
JH/JGA promote professional growth and encourage staff to develop in their field. Working in JH/JGA has allowed me to grow as an engineer and to not be limited by ‘glass ceilings’. To continue along this career path I’ve recently submitted my application for Chartership with the support of our mentorship system in JH/JGA.
Tell us about a project you’ve been involved with?
Recently, I have been more involved in the Fire Forensics department of JH/JGA. I have been fortunate to be given the opportunity to shadow Fire Investigators in our Framingham and Baltimore offices in the States. It has been interesting to continue to engage with multiple elements of fire engineering which are offered at JH/JGA and Fire Forensics is a sector that I find myself drawn to.
