Ben Atkinson, BSc (Hons), MSc, MIFireE, CPhys, MINSTP

Ben is the Group Technical Director and is a Chartered Physicist. He has a particular interest in international projects, having worked on projects in Abu Dhabi, Malta, Qatar, and Ukraine. As part of internal research programme during 2009 and 2010 Ben reviewed published data on smoke production from fires and the effect smoke has on visibility during the evacuation of buildings. He developed a means of calculating visibility from available data and his conclusions have been adopted for fire engineering design.
