Kimal Wasalathilake is a Senior Fire Safety Consultant based in Brisbane, bringing several years of experience in the broader fire industry to his role at Jensen Hughes. Specialising in passive fire protection, he possesses a comprehensive understanding of Australian and international fire testing and assessment standards. His expertise includes conducting structural and non-structural fire assessments of building components, as well as evaluating the performance of construction elements under bushfire conditions. 
Kimal has held fire testing and assessment consultancy roles across a wide range of construction elements – including fire-rated walls, service penetrations, glazing, fire-rated shutters, fire dampers, ducts and bushfire-resisting construction. His work also involves delivering performance-based solutions to complex fire engineering challenges in both new and existing buildings and infrastructure projects.
