About Ruth
Ruth is an experienced practitioner in Probabilistic Safety Analysis (PSA) and safety case authoring with over 15 years’ nuclear experience and a particular focus on risk monitor development. Ruth recently led the PSA topic area for the BWRX GDA application as part of the UK delivery team and was involved in developing a RiskWatcher model for HPC, having supported development and maintenance of the SZB RiskWatcher model for over 10 years. She has worked on numerous PSA projects, both Level 1 and Level 3 PSA and including fire and flooding hazards PSA for the UK ABWR, and is experienced with a variety of software packages, including RiskSpectrum, CAFTA, FRANX and PACE. She has supported both the UK regulator and prospective nuclear licensees on a variety of new build designs to review or produce PSA for GDA. Ruth also conducted a research project on behalf of the ONR on multi-unit radiological consequences. She also co-authored the defuelling CAT 1 safety case for HYB/TOR, focusing on the ALARP case. Ruth has developed and delivered training for clients and presented academic papers at international conferences.
