Michael Moulden, MSc, BENG. (HONS), MCSFS, IAAI, UK-AFI

Michael is an experienced Senior Forensic Investigator and Engineer with over 30 years of combined experience in forensic engineering, fire and explosion investigation, crime scene examination, and mechanical services engineering. Qualified in Forensic Engineering, Mechanical and HVAC Systems, and Marine Fire Safety (Lloyd’s Certified). Michael has conducted complex investigations into fires, fraud, IED incidents, engineering defects, accidents, construction failures, and escapes of water across the globe. As a board member of the UK Association of Fire Investigators (UK-AFI) and host of the “CSI on Fire” podcast, he actively contributes to professional development and thought leadership within the international fire investigation community.

Michael is a Senior Investigator with extensive experience in forensic science and engineering, fire and crime scene investigations, mechanical trade both in the UK and internationally. Michael has been practicing full time as a fire investigator and forensic engineer since 2019 and part time ISO competent crime scene investigator up until 2021. As a former freelance forensic investigator and lecturer, he gained valuable experience in advising multiple law enforcement agencies, NGOs, Universities, including DSTL, Ukraine Police, IICI, Cranfield University, Exeter University, and University College London.
