Justin Smith

Justin is a Lead Project Consultant with Jensen Hughes. He completed his advanced diploma at Conestoga College in Construction Engineering Technology – Architecture program. A portion of his education was in the Ontario Building Code (OBC), with a focus on Div. B, Parts 3 and 9. He is involved in a variety of large-scale high-rise condominium projects across Canada and renovation projects for educational institutes. Justin’s responsibilities include developing alternative solutions, reviewing and interpreting codes and standards as well as preparing technical reports, and expediting building permit applications.

As a Rick Hansen Certified Assessor, he reviews proposed designs for proposed renovations/additions relative to barrier-requirements of Part 3 and Part 11 of Division B of the 2012 Ontario Building Code (OBC), Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ODA), Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act, 2005 (AODA), and IO Accessibility and Design Standards for Government Buildings.
