Steven is the General Manager overseeing Jensen Hughes’ testing operations in Australia and has extensive experience in both local and international fire testing standards. He has been involved with fire testing since 2010 and over that time has worked on a multitude of standards as well as bespoke test type and regimes, providing clients with their regulatory outcome needs for various construction elements and materials.
Steven is responsible for the management and operational performance of the Australian fire testing team. Under his leadership, the Jensen Hughes testing laboratory has become one of the most trusted and commercially successful testing facilities in the region. He has been responsible for pioneering several achievements including designing and implementing Australia’s first façade testing facility, developing the first loaded timber beam to column connection test regime and developing several bespoke and ad-hoc methods and regimes to meet specific client requirements and design outcomes.
In addition to operational management responsibilities, Steven leads feasibility studies, research, design and development for new equipment, and designs new methods of testing for the laboratory. He plays an active role in Australian standards workgroups by advising amendments to existing and upcoming Australian Standards.
