NORTHERN IRELAND

In Northern Ireland our forensics team, led by Eva McKiernan and Eamon Gallagher, is ready to respond to local assignments immediately. Our fire engineering consultancy, led by Tony McParland, provides third party checking services for Building Control and we are a regular contributor to the Northern Ireland Fire Safety Panel. We also provide fire engineering seminars annually for various degree courses at Ulster University, in addition to providing lectures at Queens University for their Architectural degree course. In the past, we have also provided training to large numbers of Building Control and Fire Officers.

SCOTLAND

Led by Mike Wisekal, our forensic specialists have a strong base in Scotland from which they cover UK and international markets. Our fire engineering team is led by Eu Jin Teh. We carry out fire strategy due diligence for buildings locally focused on Scottish Building Regulations and can assist any clients or project team, who are not familiar with the Scottish fire safety code. In addition, we have a very good working relationship with various local authorities in Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service for over 20 years.

Our extensive experience includes drafting guidance on shopping centres in Scotland and Nick Montgomery (Managing Director of JH Europe) was appointed by the Scottish Government to advise ministers on the development and preparation of Scottish Building Standards. Nick also worked with the Scottish Building Standards Division to develop the current Scottish Building Regulation guidance documents.

We can showcase our experience on projects in Scotland including: schools, student accommodation, industrial and warehouse, historic and listed, and a comprehensive range of forensic services.

IRELAND

Our team in Ireland is staffed with local experts and investigators who are in tune with Irish regulations and systems, so there is no delay in our response to your project or assignment. Our fire engineering team is led by Tony McParland. We can provide: fire safety certificate applications, fire risk assessments, fire safety surveys, BC(A)R inspections and certification, and third party assessments / reviews (for the likes of Dept of Education.). He has also been actively involved in fire engineering research in historic buildings, full-scale office fire tests, a shopping centre occupancy study, and assisted the Department of Education and Skills in drafting their “Supplementary Guide for Design Teams - Fire Strategy in Schools”. Martin is also on the panel of inspectors for An Bord Pleanala.
