James is a skilled investigator with over 32 years frontline experience with the Fire and Rescue Service, offering an abundance of knowledge and expertise about fire behavior and risk management. As a qualified Operational Incident Commander, James has led emergency responses to residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and transport fires, as well as chemical and fuel-related explosions. He has responded to and managed large-scale incidents involving hazardous materials, as well as protracted rescues for those suffering personal injury. These experiences provide a technical appreciation for the realities that shape both complex incidents and the protracted investigations that follow. More recently James was employed as a preparedness manager at an upper tier COMAH high hazard explosives manufacturing facility within the HSSE department.
