Kurt has over three decades of experience in a wide range of fire safety projects. His depth and breadth of experience are instrumental in his ability to advise building owners on compliance with local and international building codes and fire safety standards. Kurt applies his knowledge and experience in fire protection and life safety systems to lead teams in the analysis and evaluation of hazardous materials and inspection/testing of fire protection systems. He designs and specifies fire suppression systems, both water-based and special-hazard, and designs fire detection and occupant notification fire alarm systems.
Kurt is a Sr. Director and registered professional engineer in eight states. He has 29 years of experience in a wide range of fire safety projects, and his depth and breadth of experience are instrumental in his ability to advise building owners on compliance with local and international building codes and fire safety standards.

Kurt has been involved in the fire service for over 37 years and is currently a paid-on-call assistant fire chief.
Mr. Ruchala currently serves as a technical committee member on NFPA 101/NFPA 5000 Fire and Building Systems Committee and on NFPA 96 Commercial Cooking Operations. He also served for 12 years as a technical committee member for NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, two years on NFPA 652 Fundamentals of Combustible Dust committee, and nine years on NFP 720 Carbon Monoxide Detection committee.
