About Valtteri
Valtteri has over 10 years of experience in the rescue services. He began his career as a firefighter and achieved his long-time dream of becoming an executive fire officer in 2020. His career in the rescue services also includes international experience, such as supporting the Swedish rescue services during the severe wildfires of 2018 and being a member of the Northern Finnish HCP (High-Capacity Pump) team, certified under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism 2023. Several years in operational roles have given Valtteri the ability to assess how fire engineering solutions perform in real-life situations.
While working as a fire officer, Valtteri studied environmental engineering at the University of Oulu, graduating with an MSc (Tech) in 2024. He gained expertise primarily in non-fossil energy system integration, sustainable city planning, and hydrogen economics. In his master’s thesis, Valtteri researched safety issues related to hydrogen production and handling as part of a pre-feasibility study for an existing hydrogen project.
