Michael is the Senior Vice President for Asia and a licensed architect. He guides operational excellence and executes comprehensive business strategies to drive innovation and growth across the region.
With his extensive experience in program management, construction, and design development, he specializes in complex, fast-track projects that require effective coordination among stakeholders throughout the implementation, completion, and O&M phases. He has a comprehensive background in both design and construction management and has contributed to various projects across the environmental, civil, and architectural sectors. These projects include military facility upgrades, airport passenger terminals, high-speed rail train stations, power and water treatment plants, advanced facilities, stadium renovations, as well as commercial, educational and healthcare facilities.
Michael has also served as director and representative for business entities across Europe and Middle East, and led investment opportunities for organic and M&A growth. He also developed innovative business service lines aimed at reducing carbon emissions by transitioning the conventional construction industry towards a manufacturing-based model. Moreover, he promoted new energy and engineering solutions that contribute to decarbonization and support a circular economy.
He has also worked with multiple international organizations including the Public Investment Fund (PIF) in the Middle East and various private and public sector entities in Korea, the Middle East, North Africa, the United States, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia.
Michael brings 30-years of experience in Architecture, Engineering and Construction industries. He has held various positions at Bechtel, URS, CH2M, Jacobs and, most recently, Samsung. He has extensive experience with various projects ranging from airport terminals, healthcare facilities, military and government facilities, power plants and high-speed rail stations. He holds a Bachelor’s of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University, a Master’s in Civil & Environmental Engineering from University of California Berkeley. He is a Registered Architect in the U.S, a Certified Foreign Engineering Consultant and is fluent in English and Korean.
