Greg is the Regional Manager for the Forensics team in Ireland and a Senior Investigator with vast experience in the industry. He has been involved in over 700 cases since joining the company. This includes investigations of fires, explosions, escapes of water and escapes of oil in residential, commercial, industrial, vehicle and marine cases.
He has continued to expand his knowledge and experience in all areas and has completed training courses in various disciplines in Ireland, the UK and the US including completing the Legal Experience Training Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence. Before joining Jensen Hughes, he studied modules on fire and explosion investigation and laboratory analysis of evidence including testing of fire debris samples and drugs analysis. He worked in the pharmaceutical industry for almost two years as a laboratory analyst for two large biopharma manufacturing companies in both environmental analysis and quality control laboratories. Part of course work, he was involved working with the Forensic Science Ireland laboratory on a project researching new methods for the detection of trace levels of bodily fluids at crime scenes. He also spent time working as a loss adjuster in the insurance industry and maintains his status as a Certified Insurance Practitioner through the Insurance Institute of Ireland.
Greg obtained certification as a Fire Investigation Technician (IAAI FIT) in September 2017 and as an Evidence Collection Technician (IAAI-ECT) in March 2023, both through the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI). He was the first fire investigator in Ireland to obtain either of these certifications.
Greg has been on the committee of the Fire Investigators Association of Ireland since 2019, and has given evidence as an expert witness in courts in Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
