Kimal Wasalathilake is a Senior Fire Safety Consultant based in Brisbane, with several years of experience across the broader fire engineering industry. His background spans both laboratory-based fire testing and technical consulting, enabling him to bridge the gap between test data and practical, code compliant applications in construction projects. 

Specialising in passive fire protection, Kimal has a strong understanding of both Australian and international fire testing and assessment standards. His experience includes the fire resistance of structural and non-structural elements. He has worked across a wide range of construction elements, covering a wide range of construction components such as fire-rated walls, service penetrations, fire resistant glazing systems, roller and stacking shutters, fire dampers, ventilation ducts. He also has extensive experience in bushfire-resisting construction, including the assessment of external wall systems, glazing, roofing, and decking in accordance with relevant BAL requirements and Australian Standards. 

Kimal regularly collaborates with architects, builders, and product manufacturers, providing clear and practical technical advice. He also contributes to internal technical reviews and supports the development of robust, performance-based fire engineering solutions for complex projects.
