Director, Fire Engineering

Henry Wilkinson opened Jensen Hughes' Manchester office in January 2014 and is responsible for projects and business development in the North of England. He was promoted to Director in January 2018.

Henry is working on a number of large inner city and town centre regeneration projects across the UK and internationally, many of which involve alterations to existing buildings. Henry has worked on a range of different building uses including education, shopping centres, office, mixed use, research, leisure, healthcare and residential buildings.

Henry has also developed particular expertise in fire strategies for modern colleges and schools where a common design is a central atrium that provides access to classrooms and study areas. Henry has developed fire engineering solutions to ensure a safe design while maintaining the required open plan layouts.

Henry carried out a research project to investigate the implications of basement level fires on smoke control design in shopping centres using CFD modelling as part of JH internal research programme during 2009 and 2010. His conclusions provided more data to confirm the results of previous work and to confirm JH's approach to smoke control design.
