In the absence of a formally defined statutory role in the UK, there is increasing variation in how this service is being interpreted and procured across projects. It also draws comparisons with Ireland’s BCAR system, where construction stage certification is more formally structured, highlighting key lessons for UK practice, particularly as clients, insurers and contractors increasingly seek greater assurance during construction.
