BALTIMORE, MD – Jensen Hughes and Nexus Technical Services Corp., headquartered in Oakbrook Terrace, IL, USA, announce that they have reached merger agreement between the two companies. The merger enhances the position of the combined organization as a global leader providing fire protection and other specialty consulting services for the nuclear power and energy industry.

Jensen Hughes CEO, Phil Rogers, said “The addition of Nexus continues the expansion of service offerings that meet our goal of advancing the science of safety, both within the nuclear power and energy industries as well as with institutional and commercial occupancies in the non-power marketplace. Nexus adds to our group a solid history of proven results with respected staff possessing strong technical talents. While this represents our fourth acquisition of the year, we will continue to seek out strategic opportunities for adding additional talent and complementary service offerings.”

As the largest provider of specialty engineering and consulting services, with combined revenues approaching $180 million and 800 employees, the Jensen Hughes / Nexus merger will expand the technical resources available to provide engineering solutions to the nuclear energy industry as well as a broad range of fire protection engineering, code consulting and property risk management services to commercial occupancies including office, institutional and health care facilities.

The two companies have been preparing an integration plan designed to communicate the combined firm’s increased capabilities to both current and prospective clients and staff. The integration process will begin immediately and leverage the strengths of both firms to include a well-planned, combined organization and operational structure. The combined company will be able to provide seamless delivery of project services to clients wherever they work.

“Companies should always be looking for ways to meet the evolving needs of clients,” said Dave Boswell, Jensen Hughes President of North America Operations. “We are a company of engineers, consultants and scientists who advance the science of safety every day. With the global reach of our office locations and unparalleled depth of technical expertise, our growing company is perfectly positioned to offer clients a full service solution for their safety and protection challenges around the globe.”

“We are pleased to have completed this merger as it represents a significant step forward for both our clients and employees” said Tom McCormack, President of Nexus. “This merger provides additional resources to our clients wherever they work in the world while also offering increased opportunities for our highly motivated staff.”

Doug True, Jensen Hughes Executive Vice President of Energy Services, stated, “We are excited to have Nexus’ experienced professionals join the Jensen Hughes team. Our talent and resources available to the nuclear energy industry is unmatched.”
