Logan International Airport in Boston is the largest airport in New England, boarding over 38 million passengers per year. Massport, the airport operator, has made a number of enhancements over the course of the last few years, including a major airport expansion and a new nine-story parking garage.

As part of these expansion projects, existing fire protection systems needed to be integrated with the new systems.

We performed comprehensive building surveys to characterize the existing fire alarm infrastructure, modeling of new structures and code consulting for the ongoing projects.

The performance-based approach resulted in reduced smoke control fan sizes and fire safety systems better tailored to suit unique spaces. A higher overall level of life safety was provided while reducing project cost.
