The recent tide of workplace and school shootings in the United States has resulted in an increased focus on workplace violence and its impact. Between 1992 and 2019, an estimated 17,865 employees were killed as a result of workplace violence. Risk mitigation practices can help employers develop robust, sustainable workplace violence prevention policies tailored to the unique challenges faced by the organization. Such programs will have the best outcome, ensuring an effective and compliant program and an overall culture of safety that employees will welcome and support.
