Dr. Jihan El Ouaragli is a staff engineer at Jensen Hughes, specializing in battery fire protection, including battery energy storage systems (BESS), battery storage and testing, micromobility, and electric vehicles (EVs). With a Ph.D. in Energy Storage from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and industry hands-on experience, she brings over 8 years of expertise in designing innovative battery solutions and ensuring the reliable and safe operation of critical battery technologies. She focuses on enhancing the fire and life safety measures of battery installations via hazard mitigation assessments and performance-based mitigation solutions. 

She is actively involved in evolving safety codes and standards, battery research, and the development of testing protocols for various battery projects. She is a frequent presenter at a wide variety of industry events related to battery safety. Dr. Jihan's commitment to safeguarding lives and property through advanced fire protection solutions positions her as a leading expert in the field.
