Identification and Control of Combustible Dust Hazards

Our recently completed project “Identification and Control of Combustible Dust Hazards,” provides key information to employees and employers on the hazards of combustible dust in workplaces to prevent dust fires and explosions and protect workers. This project was a collaboration of Dalhousie University, Dust Safety Science, Coastal Process Safety, and Jensen Hughes.

This work, funded by the Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Education Trust Fund, resulted in an analysis of combustible dust case history in Nova Scotia, a regulatory scan of other jurisdictions, and a training package comprised of educational materials to enhance workplace practices.
